It is Finished.

Matthew 27:33- 37 says “ They came to a place called Golgotha( which means “ the place of the skull)”. There they offered Jesus wine to drink, mixed with gall, but after tasting, he refused to drink it. When they had crucified him, they divided up his clothes by casting lots. And sitting down, they kept watch over him there. Above his head they placed the written charge against him: THIS IS JESUS, THE KING OF THE JEWS.

Imagine standing there at the foot of the cross on that dreadful day, when all hope seemed lost. Jesus’s arms spread open wide, a nail embedded in both of his palms, and in his feet, and a crown of thorns on his head, each breath labored. His eyes filled with grace, mercy, and love, boring into you. Then you hear a voice inside your head saying “ Even if you were the only person on this planet I would still go to the cross every single time for you “. There is something deeply personal about Good Friday. It invites us to pause and reflect- not just on what happened but what it means. It reminds us that no pain we carry is unseen. No burden is too heavy. No past is beyond redemption. The cross stands as proof that even in the darkest moment, God is still working.

Sometimes life brings us into our own “ Good Friday “ seasons- moments of loss, confusion, or heartbreak where things feel silent or uncertain. But just as the day lead to resurrection, our hardest moments are not without hope. God is still writing the story even when we cannot yet see the ending.

So today, take a moment to sit in the stillness. Reflect on that depth of love. Let it reach into the places that need healing, peace, and renewal,

Because the cross was never about defeat. It was about victory – wrapped in sacrifice, revealed through love.

Some of you may be in your Friday season. It looks dark and hopeless…. The enemy thinks he’s won, but little does he know your Sunday is coming. The resurrected king is breathing life over your dead promises. It might be Friday… but Sunday is coming.
