In a world that often celebrates status, success, and self – promotion, Christ- like character calls us to something deeper- something eternal. It’s not about performance, perfection, but about transformation. To live with Christ like character is to reflect the heart of Jesus in our everyday lives: in our words, our thoughts, our choices, and how we treat others.
At its core value Christ like Character is rooted in love. Not a surface level, convenient love, but a sacrificial, patient, and unconditional love.
Humility is another defining mark. In a culture that pushes us to elevate ourselves, Christ showed us what it means to lower ourselves. He spent time with the overlooked. True Greatness in the Kingdom of God looks like servant hood. My favorite thing about Jesus is how servant minded he is, he knew Judas was going to betray him in the Upper Room, but he still stooped down removed his outer garment and washed his feet anyway.
Integrity also plays a big part in this. Christ like charecter means being the same person you are in private as you are in public. It’s walking in truth even when no one’s watching. It’s choosing what is right, over what’s easy.
But let’s be completely honest with one another, this kind of life doesn’t come naturally, it’s a daily decision. A surrender. A process of becoming. We grow in Christ like Character, not by striving harder but abiding in him. As we spend time in his presence, our hearts begin to shift. Our desires change. Our reactions soften. We start to look more like him little by little.
This journey isn’t about being flawless, it’s about being faithful. There will be times when we fall short, moments we react out of emotion instead of love. But even then, grace meets us. God isn’t asking for perfection, he’s asking for willingness.
So what does Christ like Character look like in your day to day life?
Maybe it’s choosing patience in a frustrating moment.
Maybe it’s speaking life instead of criticism.
Maybe it’s extending forgiveness when you’d rather hold a grudge but that doesn’t do us any good.
Small choices made daily, shape who we become.
